I guess Father Christmas has con early for you... That seems to be an early MP38 mag pouch transport strap. I can't find the thread right now but there is one around about the early mag pouches.

Well, till I find it I'm posting some pics I had in my files. It seems to be a mix between the grey and the white variations. It is grey material with buckles and attachments of the white one.

Here!!! I found the thread, go through it all:

That information is very interesting! Have you seen this type of hardware used on items manufactured in France / for the French prewar army?

The hooks looks partially like the French Gasmask mod31 strap, but the hook only, as the rest doesn't. I haven't found that such aluminium parts in any other hardware.

Your sling is NOT a German WW2 factory made sling. It might very well be a "non-standard" sling made for the 6-cell pouches in a occupied country (France?), as the hardware is identical to that used on the cartridge belt slings normally found on these pouches. Like the slings shown further up in this thread by me6_130.

                        Hello Reidar,

Even when not standard, the ammo belt straps seem to be early o pre-production items for those 6 and 3 cell pouches, that could have been produced by " [...] Friedrich Offerman & Söhne from Bensberg (dkk). Probably in 1938/1939." according to information provided by Alex aka Greif7 (MP40.nl)
