    Michael,
The horrible truth is EVERYTHING Third Reich is being faked, no matter how small and insignigicant. Obviously a few things arent at the moment like water bottles (straps, beakers, covers are ) but the sentiment that some things are safe because they are not worth it does not hold water anymore sadly. Its the horrible truth
I also dont like the OXO one,
    Matt

I have 1 ground dug sleeve i found a few years ago and it's exactly like Mark's incuding traces of green paint.

          Hello all,
I have a question for our experienced members :
Do the frag sleeves have to be marked ?
I have one (for 15 years now) and can't find any marking. I will post photos later as they are not available from my current PC.
          Thank you
          Phil

Is it a smooth model? as in my expirience they have no markings but some might but most of the serated ones do as in this thread have a look on the bottom edge where the clips are and it will most probably be in one f the squaires on the bottom row

              Hi Adam,
I think it is a smooth model and will check the marking.
              Regards

The smooth model is generally unmarked.

Just found a faint brb 44 mark on the relic head I posted. I also note that the MM appears on the bottom central serration on both my examples. Also both have 5 rows of serrations between each clip. I'll post a picture tomorrow, going to bed now!!

Thanks for your insight, the reason I said Norwegian paint is I compared it to a post war repaint of an MG34 double barrel carrier(that came from Norway) and it is pretty close. Your observation on some pitting below the paint is absolutely correct hence I concluded a repaint.

                    Reidmuller,

I found the brb 44 stamp..thanks!! a pic is below. Richard Rinker if my memory serves me?

                    regards and thanks to all

                              Hello,

What does everyone think to pic #26?

IMO #27 is an absolute belter, I have never seen a marked (printed) smooth style frag sleeve before and to add evy (von Hagen, Ww. Wilhelm) to a known manufacturers list of smooth sleeves is excellent. Does everyone concur that #27 is original? Also, can anyone translate the text for me?

Here are 3 pics of serrated frag sleeves that I am curious of your opinion on.

                              Cheers,

                              Craig.
