Camouflage MG ammo box

Hello together,

I know, this is not a helmet
But I wanted to put this in here because of the well experienced camouflage collectors here.

So I had this for sale and the buyer wanted some more opinions - what is totally ok.

So then I got two negative and one positive feedback

Now I wanted to ask for some more Feedback here.

I now know what the mean....
It is pretty hard to get on photos...but on the green spots, there is always yellow paint under it. The thing is, the green is much more thick (vehicle paint???) then the yellow paint is. So it is better preserved and I think because it is more thick, they think the paint is on top of rust.

But on some areas you also see the many small yellow spots. And also under all the green spots there is still yellow paint.

As said, super hard to get on photos.

But would like to hear some more opinions on this

It's a tactical unit sign. I have found some close looking unit symbols but not a 100% match yet

As I recall reading in the distant past, paint could be issued in 2 forms. Ready mix for use, and also a paint concentrate for mixing in the field.

This would also account for differing finishes and shades as the potential range of mixes is massive with regards to Qty of paint needed compared to availability of product.

Low stock but high need can result in stretching the concentrate and getting a thin mix of the other way round!

Obviously generally speaking a factory applied finish would usually be reasonably good.....until the bitter end of course.
