    Italian Shelter Quarter

I know nothing about these - advice please.

Is this of wartime manufacture? If so, might it have been used by the Wehrmacht (bearing in mind it looks to be unissued) and in that case what is it worth? I have owned it for some time.

With no head aperture, as on a Zeltbahn, was its use purely as a tent section?

I look forward to your comments.

    Regards,

    Grossfuss

      Thanks Nick,

I was hoping that date stamp is OK - I assume 19417 = July '41?

        Hello,

If it's a square and not a triangle, this shelter is Italian and not used by the germans.

Purely Italian yes but used a lot in the german Army and you can find many in the territories where the german troops were ...
Not to be confused with the german made triangular ponchos in italian camo .
They captured everything possible : the cloth rolls but also the stocks of ponchos !

If I may piggy-back on this thread: recently a friend gave me this piece of cammo tent material. We speculated that it is Italian but neither of us were very sure. Not super important as it has had pieces cut from it to line display cases a long time ago.

He saw this thread and sent me the link so I thought I may as well ask out of curiosity.

The shape of the cammo pattern does look quite similar but there are some different features from the OP's tent section.

                    Thanks in advance.
