Flare Pistol Holster - DESPERATELY need images of fake and legit eagles

    Hey guys...

I recently won an auction that was supposed to be original flare gun, holster and cleaning rod.

I got it for a STEAL at $500... Which immediately brought up concerns.

Once it arrived I knew immediately that the holster was a modern repro.. Brand new leather... bad eagles with fat wings. I have been collecting long enough to know the difference between original and fake. The cleaning Rod was also modern repro.

after raising my concerns to the auction house... And them not responding... I opened up a credit card dispute and sent the items back.

they are now disputing with my credit card company... Indicating that their expert of 37 years knows what he's talking about.

My credit card company needs proof that eagles are actually fake... however...I did not bother taking photos of the thing before sending it back.

I am fairly certain it is one of the IMA reproductions with a large upswept wings on the WaA... cleaning rod on sure was from them as well.

So what I need are photos of legit eagles stamped into these leather holsters ... As well as fake eagles to prove my case.

Can anyone help out in this matter?

    TIA

    Mike

I thought the holsters were ink stamped on the inside of the flap from what I have seen.

        Hi Mike,
As written by mail, the two rings at the back are fake (not the proper dimension and looks to be opened at the front).
In addition, the extracting tool is a copy too (not the proper construction and assembly).

Regarding the marking, ink was used but on some models, the date and manufacturer name were stamped too.

A closer view would have been appreciate.

ink marking: An example for sale actually on the web:
        https://fjm44.com/product/complete-l...od-dated-1940/
stamped marking: Same kind of source
        https://www.lux-military-antiques.co...olster-set.htm

If anybidy has some closer views of the back loops, it would help too.

        Best regards
