San. Uffz. STÖRZER - KIA in STALINGRAD

Very sad gas mask set that just came out of a cellar near Ellwangen. Uffz. STÖRZER from San.Offz.Nachschubkompanie 15 was a chaplain and a medic. Served in Russia and fought in the Stalingrad Kessel. He had the chance to leave the city with one of the last planes but he stayed with his comrades and died in Russia. I found an articel in a newspaper about him. His brother died in Stalingrad too. The other brother died in france. The newspapers headline says:
"His selflessness is unforgotten until today".

I wish i could give you an answer Filip. Sometimes they sent medals, helmets and equipment back home to the families after the death of the soldier. I once got a battle damaged helmet with blood stained liber out of the family....the owner had lost his life 1944 in the east. Always a mixed feeling to have these pure relics in hands.
