    M38 Gas Mask

    Hi to All,

    Are M38 gas mask made of green rubber much rarer than the black rubber ones?

      Not really, but greener ones are a bit more difficult to find (specially a size 1 green GM38)

          Green rubber are simply earlier variants of the same type of gasmasks. Green rubber was used to make gasmasks up to 1942 and later black one were introduced ( simply green dyed rubber was more expansive than black one - in other words; war economy ).
          The same case with VM 40; pre war and early variants were green rubber and than black rubber varaints were introduced ( war economy effact - same or similar quality for lower costs ).
