    Gebirgsjager boots on estand

Hello all, I was the person that posted these boots. Until I was questioned about them by Mark (nicely and politely by the way), I had never thought they were anything other than what I listed them as.
So today I asked the person who I feel is the most well versed in WWII German uniform items, and he was unsure as well and wondered if they could possibly be a well made pair of WWII era civilian mountaineering boots?
I like anyone , would just like to know what they actually are . Thanks a lot for any input.

Yes, these are civilian mountain boots.

For example, an unworn pair of original gebirgsjäger mountain boots.

Nice pair, the only textbook one shown in this thread so far...

Think what you want - fact is your pair is not Wehrmacht issue. Period.

These, too, are not standard issue boots

                    Agreed, Gran Sasso

you are a funny one. They are same Wehrmacht Issued Boots then the other one posted. Just where they are made you should ask.

I have to agree with Patrick. From what I have seen and know from period photos, unless like the un-issued set or like mine I would give pause to stating they were Wehrmacht issue.
But - I'm here to learn, so I'd like to see evidence of other variations...?
                          Respectfully,

In Austria there were 2 suppliers of GBJ Boots, one in Innsbruck other one in Villach, both made slight differen Version of GBJ Boots and and delivered only in Austria. And both were chosen on the proposal of Fulpmes and GBJ Reg 139 to supply the high mountain units, because they simple say the so called Wehrmacht Issued Boots are rubbish. Look at this Picture, from him i own from Medals to his personal Gear everything, including his Boots who i guess can clearly be seen are not Wehrmacht Issued Boots.

Do your research, find out yourself then try again.
