    Opinions on Gass Sheet Pouch

    Hi All,
Has anyone ever seen a pouch like this? It came with an original '41 dated sheet, from a maker we've verified before on this forum. The pouch is the rubberized type, with Prym fasteners, but the rear has Presstoff-like reinforcements for the carrying strap. (The material looks white in the photo, but actually has a silvery finish). No maker's mark or date inside.

    Thanks! SF Mike

              Interesting post mate.

I have seen this type posted before on this forum a few times but of course I can't find any of them now

If I find one I will update the tread.

Wartime. Had dated example ( if remember correctly 1940 or 1941 ).

Thanks Marcin & Ian. It's an unusual one for sure. I'll hope that a photo with a maker's mark turns up eventually.

Researching "bpl"....seems to be the 3 letter code for Klepper-Werke, Rosenheim (Bavaria). They also made rain jackets, such as those worn by motorcyclists.

"In Germany, the Bavarian master tailor Johann Klepper set an exclamation mark in 1920. The so-called Klepper coat bore the title "absolutely waterproof". Johann Klepper & Co. GmbH, headquartered in Rosenheim, sold this 780 grams of revolutionary light-weight, dark gray cotton coat with rubber coating. He not only protected the wearer from wind and weather, but was also considered to be particularly tear-resistant and resistant to abrasion."
