A beauty! Pic for those that question the wartime use of the early canister

Nice foto Mike! Of course they really exist. I have a lot of reissue painted early canisters with Feldpostnummer until 1945. Cool aspect to own an early camo can that is legit!

It is a 1936 can with a bmw 43 mask. Breadbag strap used for carrying it is from 1938. It is in the state when it was dumped before capitulation in 1945.

@cyngiel: this is not prewar camo, was done later. My question was if the camo is a known type like the "normandy camo" or so. Thank you all

Breadbag has been added postwar. Thats for sure. Look at the clean hook in disagreement to the rusted handle of the can. Btw in 20 years of collecting i have never seen a legit breadbag replacement...

So this is a special day for you, Hagen. As I have written, it has stayed this way since 1945. I do not write opinions when I know fact. Breadbag sling is from 1938, thus hook is made of aluminium. pls find full pic. As you can see by the carrying damage combination is legit.

Was this type of can suitable for stiff rubber mask? I always thought that higher cans were introduced in 1938 to accommodate this model.
