    Mp-40 Pouches

    Good day gents,

Do you see anything squirrely with this pair of Mp-40 pouches? Personally I like the overall look of them, but that waffenamt has me a bit spooked. I think it says WaA63 for Mauserwerk. Did Mauser even produce Mp-40 pouches??

I know that WaA63 was only in use with Mauser between 1935 - 1939 and that would seem too early for these, especially with the RbNr.

I have no risk on these as I can return them so what do you think - turd balls? That would be a bummer because appearance-wise, they look original (nice flax thread, proper fabric, nice patina on the studs and rings, and right aging to the leather).

Thanks for looking and I appreciate your inputs.

    Fronts and backs

Buttonhole stitching on the adapter pocket looks correct.

Markings. I think that says WaA63. I hope not.

One thing I don't like about the area around WaA stamp is how the leather is gone/raw. Like old original leather was used to make these and when stamped it just flaked away from the area struck by the die because it was fragile.

      Thanks for looking

                Lots mate.

Artificially aged, RbNr number on a early set, that RbNr number also looks like it ends in the dreaded 007. Stitching on the belt loop on the left pouch (left as in the photo), the overall quality; lots more but you get the idea.

Compare these with known originals and the differences will leap out at you. Return and get your money back would be my advice.

These pouches are definitely "turd balls"!

Thanks a lot guys - appreciate you taking the time to weigh-in with your opinions.

I actually haven't paid for them yet so I'll just inform the seller to cancel the transaction.

                      Thanks again!
