Need help with unknown gm30 gas mask snout

Hi folks. I got hands on this nice early matching gm30 gas mask set found in a german attic. Has anybody seen this snout before? Any opinions are helpful. Thanks!

Can't say I have ever seen this contraption before. Doubt it's an "official" modification, looks like perhaps somebody wanted to make a sandblasting mask out of this one.

Thanks Filip. Could be possible but that snout has been installed a long time ago with nice patina.

Yes, but sandblasting has been around for a long time and while it's without doubt old it's not impossible that somebody thought this mask could be used for this kind of work.
