Gasmask with rubber ring in the lid

just want to share this salty gasmask cannister I just picked up,sadly it has some rustspots, and the straps well used,a nice surprice was finding the rubber ring in the lid,not seen very often, the gasmask itself is in a great condition, and its the model for the microphone.
Sorry the pics are not the best

Superb find Jørn! Thanks for showing it.

I am still looking for my first one with the rubber seal intact.

Great find, not many were issued with this rubber ring as it was deemed not to be that important. Due to material conservation it was very rarely installed inside the lid and only to people who's mask really really had to be protected from water. Is there a Kriegsmarine stamp inside the mask (usually between the eyes)? This would be a logical explanation for this rubber ring.

Wonderful. The Name on the bottom of the can indicates Kriegsmarine. I could pick up a rubber ring can with Microphone gas mask in 2017 from Marineflak. Very hard to find!

Most likely a KM issued gasmask cannister and mask despite lacking of the M marking. Very rare rubber ring. Beautiful set!
