    RZM/SS 1936 98K Ammo Pouches

    Dear collectors,
I'm not sure if this is a proper place to post, but I would like to hear your opinions on the RZM/SS 1936 98K Ammo Pouches that I have for sale on E-stand now. In case there are any issues, please explain why. Thanks very much in advance!
    Best,
    Shu

IMO original K98 pouchs with post-war markings.
On the pouchs are visible thraces of wearing but stamp corners looks brand new without any traces of wearing.

Thanks for your opinion, Schlange. But, how about the design of the markings? You are talking about the wears of the markings, not the markings themselves. Are these markings wrong? Is there any photo of a fake/reproduction example with markings identical with those in the pouches in question?

Hello, i can't help. They look great markings.. but you can find fake examples even inside a canteen cup... so it must be a large quantity of whatever SS markings on the market!! Good luck!

Thanks for yout input, echofix. Unless the design and the specs are wrong, I like what I have in my hands. But, let's hear more opinions backed up by evidence.

For me these are not one looker markings but that does not make them bad. I find these hard to judge.

Thank you for your frank opinion, Erik. I agree it's tough to judge ... especially from the pictures alone.

The SS stopped production of their own pouches in 1939. The stamp on these pouches is also incorrect. This is a fabricated code indicating maker number/year which is incorrect. The code should be....VA(circled), maker number/year, SS(circled). You would not see an RZM marking on originals.

Ladies and gentlemen, I stand corrected. After diligently leafing through all my published material regarding this matter, I found the following pic of the Ss rzm stamp on a leather map case verified as original:

I agree with you. I believe on combat equipment for VT and TK troops that would be using the equipment at the supposed date, the marking should be similar to that on this frog. There are a number of the SS/RZM stamps floating around. I have seen the mark on holsters too.
