I think these 'safes are pretty scarce, and this is a neat one. Looks to have it's original matchbox, too. Anyone know about the unit? Thanks for all comments.

I have read that the 5 Pfennig Haushaltsware matches were introduced in the 1950s. I believe the wartime label had an eagle and the boxes cost 3 Pf.

I believe that it is still standing. I remember it in the late 70's early 80's when I trained there.
