BMW R75 with Canvas Cover for Gas Mask?

Hey guys...

I recently saw a restored BMW R75. There were various accessories mounted...including a gas mask & canister.

The canister was covered in tan canvas...and the owner told me it was a rare gas mask can cover (was the same shape and size as the gas mask canister)...

Any truth to that?

Yes, this is an early Bundeswehr canister.

But often offered as "rare DAK tropical gasmask cover" or so...
