This lines are present on the 3 visible side of this MG ammunition box.

for at a glance correct ammo choice? or unit mark, anything is possible, nice tin though, and has more writing on top aside from the numbers in the middle

This markings were no reglamented. As other just said, markings for content or unit markings.
