Pete, the shovel is original and good, carrier looks fine also. are there any makings on the carrier. look closely, sometimes they are barely noticable. Glenn

Thanks Glenn. I'm really a novice in field gear, but thanks to you guys I'm learning quickly. The carrier does have a very faint marking, gcx 1943.

hi Pat. good deal. its always a definate plus to have both pieces maker marked. I would say both together would be worth about $250.00 or more depending on who "feels" they need it for their collectioon. buts its a good keeper. Glenn
