That could be it, as the main issue I could see were the straps. The fact that most repro pouches have the straps showing the rough face of the leather was the main red flag. Now, if replaced...when? They are nicely sewn, so looks professionally done but possibly post war?

Not pre 45.
Explanation
Bad front straps looks incorrect rough out out. Weird metal. Bad loop hole. Bad marking looks contrived as if it had to be there ( try too hard to compensate because c---p to begin with).
Just ugly to SEE. Amen.

Just took a closer look at the pouch. I have to withdraw my conclusion.
Althought the Ink stamp looks fresh to me, the pouch itself is imo 100% original, including the reversed straps at the front. Indeed not textbook and a bit strange but original imo.
