What are these boots exactly? Last ditch?

What are these boots? I find it hard to believe that soldiers would be issued them for marching, especially with the wooden soles? I suppose they are last ditch style boots?

It's been suggested in "some quarters" that these boots are "Concentration Camp"shoes while other say that these boots are "Last Ditch" while, in fact, the're rather unknown and obscure!
In my opinion they're not "Fur kaempf"...and I'd give my right b#ll to see a soldier running in them under a hail of Soviet bullets! They're slowly flooding the market but as far as I'm concerned I've never found such a pair coming out of the "woodwork" (the terms "Textbook", "Last-ditch" and "Woodwork" usually make me sick but they're neded sometimes!) nor I've seen pictures of them being worn by German soldiers! They could have been shoes made for factory workers...but that's only a suggestion....I surely enough wouldn't use them on a set up!

I'm with you- I couldn't see a soldier running in these boots. However, they do have hobnails- something a prisoner would not be allowed to have- either way, I am selling them- just curious if anyone knew the history of this type of footwear.

        Hi,

don't let the hobnails fool you, for they don't necessarily mean "soldier",in fact, it was a common practice back in the 20s,30s and 40s (and even later),especially amongst farmers, to have a few hobnails driven into their boots, high and low cut, to make the leathger soles last longer, ditto for the sheperds who had to walk on mountains and rocky hills....they had more traction and were less prone to slip......no talk of VIBRAM rubber soles then !
