It's a waffenamt (military acceptance) stamp.....Cannot make out the WaA number however with the pebble finish of the leather....Appears pouch is 1941 dated.....Bodes

The maker is Offermann & Söhne located in Bensberg.
I don't like the eagle and assume it has been added later.

Me neither... it's a strange stamp, and the outline indicates that it is added later.....

Thanks all for replying..... the stamp is very odd it appears to have 4 letters in it rather than numbers but just could not make them out or understand why it was there .......and it's something I have not seen before .....I know what you are saying about the outline as well Tom....but the makers mark also has the outline of the stamp .....does this not just indicate that it has been hit too hard with the stamp?

Mind you having seen that guy at war and peace stamping everything from dog tags to equipment.......I have to wonder
              Cheers

Could be an "SSZA" stamp spuriously added to increase value....That might explain the four letters....Bodes
