k98 pouch hardware

Hey guys, first post, had a question for you. Was the metal hardware on k98 pouches ever painted black during wartime? I understand that some was painted gray from the factory, and that russian capture pouches sometimes had their hardware painted black, but I'm wondering if any came in black from the factory. Metal hardware on ammo pouches ( of any ammo pocuhes ) were always painted grey.
On other equipment you can find, factory, painted black hardware parts.
