    Recent camo rubberised cape.

Hi, recent arrival from a well know online dealer. Sold to me as anti gas clothing. A nice piece of sumpf 43? cloth rubberised on one side with two arm slits on the front. Can't find much info on gas suits etc only pictures I can find are in the "Whermacht Camouflage Uniforms" book although I have seen one or two suits in the flesh. Is this a piece of genuine issue equipment or maybe some thing made up at local unit level? Seems very flimsy and also comes with alittle pixie hat! Regards David.

      Hi David

I saw it,, and since it isn't a regular anti-gas suit I let it go......

I do have the standard regular suit, legs and bag in sumpftarn, but haven't been able to find the arms and helmet cape (yet )

For me it is a sort of homemade rain suit.... no idea if this is ww2 produced or after the war.... one thing is certain: not standard issue !!

        Gas cape.

Hi Tom, I thought if anyone would know it would be you, thanks for your input, I assumed that it was going to be an issue part of the gas protection suit. Must have at one time been material for making into a gas suit ensemble and perhaps someone made themselves a rain proof cape? Agreed not issue to flimsy for that. Regards David.

I've owned one in the 70's exact like this one.
It came in a ww2 gas cape pouch.
