    Norma field stove

    Hi guys! My new purchase! My question is this a wartime one, or military at all? Thanks

    Interesting. The last picture shows a stamp often seen on Bakelite cups or butter dishes. The number usually stands for the calendar year with would date this one to 1932. It's a commercial product but certainly could have been purchased by a soldier. Jim

      I have read that the number is a manufacturer code, not year. Have seen somewhere in the internet lists with the codes, but could not find it now.

        I read through some old threads and your right. Of course the code list is unavailable or the link doesn't work anymore. Jim

            Just checked the book

            32 = Manufacturer code : H. Römmler Aktiengesellschaft, (Viacowerke) Berlin-Pankow

            S = Material Classification : Phenolic Resin with wood filler (sawdust)

            The maker mark HRS also indicates H. Römmler Aktiengesellschaft, Spremberg Nd.-Lausitz. (Later to be identified by three letter code "ehe"

            Hope this helps a bit

            Tom

                I have a Norma 2burner alcohol stove, it is commercially made but also used as a field stove and for medical instruments sterilization in the field
