    Mountian Troop Puttees?

Any idea who wore these? W-SS,Heer?

I think they may be original WW2 issue but I don't know for sure ,as I know some of these companies made stuff after the war. They are quite long and designed to go up to the knee.

    Thanks

They could be anything but the "Waffen-Loesche" tag is unusual and indicates a hunting/weapon store in which they were bought (weapon-Loesche). If they would be out of ww2 era and privately purchased there would be no tag of the store but just from the tailor they were bought from.

        Justv my 2 cents

          Thanks.

Another thing is that maybe the label should read " MARSCH GAMASCHEN" and not "MARS GAMASCHE" but then I found this thread and they look almost identical.

Not necessarily post-war. These Wickelgamaschen could be pre-war or wartime. Obviously from the "Waffen-Loesche" tag, they were from a hunting store as mentioned above. Wickels have been in fashion with hunters and outdoorsmen since the turn of the century. Knee length ones were usually worn with riding breeches.

Many Gebirgsjäger officers and NCO's wore knee length Wickels. Even some 'Old-School" infantry officers would wear these like they did during WWI.

"MARS" was the predominate manufacturer of Wickelgamaschen. They come in a variety of colors and lengths.

            Horrido!

              Hi,

I have the winter-catalogue, seaason 1938/39 from the famous "Sporthaus Schuster, München".
As you can see they offered also the Mars Gamaschen.

              Best regards

              Stephan
