The "38" gas mask cannister is signed by Oberstlt. Roters. Inside and on gas mask it is also signed but I am not sure if it was the same person. What do You think?

Primer

This is close up picture of gas mask cannister, second from the left. I can see dark paint or primer under, what I thought, is nice, early, apple green paint. What is Your opinion? Repainted or it is a primer?

Details of an early breadbag and strap. Strap is reinforced with horizontal stitchings, hooks are made of steel, attached by brass rivets. Adjusting buckles are also made of steel. I think that strap had been designed to carry heavy loads and aluminium would crack quickly.

I have found this picture in soft cover book on German Infantry. Description says that this is 50th Infanterie Division in september of 1939 in Poland. What do You think about circumstances? Do You think that soldiers are wearing Y straps and A frames?
