    GJ climbing rope

I just bought this full length GJ climbing rope .
It is original German WWII climbing rope with a blue trace thread twisted into the strands. Rope was never unwound length is approximately about 55-60 meters and thickness is 9-10 mm . Any thoughts? Jacques

I wait their response as well. This is a very interesting topic to me, but I really have no expertise to share.

        Grüß Gott Jacques,

Looks like a good period climbing rope to me. There were a variety of ropes used with and without trace threads which ranged in color....blue, green, red. Nice whipping thread on the ends.

        Bergheil und Horrido!

Would be interesting to see a pic of the 3 letter code.

Patrick (Gran Sasso) helped me greatly to find this, I have been looking for one for my mannequin for a long time. The are pricey and hard to find. I am not planning to use the full length so if some are looking for about 30m let me know. J
