        Hi

Try to take a look at this thread http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...4&page=1&pp=15 there is some informations that might help you.

Anyway look for markings on the shovel that could indicate both age and origin.

        Regards
        Kim

Well i cant see any differences on those and mine shovel, my shovel comes from Norway, and you can still se some traces of the norwegian armys paint. The norwegian army used a lot of german equipment. The only marking i can see is on the shovel blade and its AGO., hope that helps. or

              Hi,

it's a nice, genuine shovel !These shovels were produced well after the war without stampings on the steel piece(these were added later by crooks!) and are virtally identical to WW2 ones! Now, sometimes even WW2 ones are missing the stamps on the blade, but there are a few little tricks to ascertain whether they're period or not, and one of them consists of taking a closer look at the upper part of the bakelite securing nut.....it's got markings on it,namely the round one with letters/numbers in it...hey...let's keep it a secret !
