    Ammo Pouch...German??

Hello, all I do not have much of an idea about Ammo Pouches. I got this with some other items and will place it on E-stand later but I want to be sure it is what first. Is it World War Two? German? Worth? Thanks For you help.

      Hi Dennis

No this pouch isn't WWII maybe WWI and about the nationality! Not German either maybe Austrian or eastern Europe. I often see types like this one but they are all very alike with brass fittings etc.

I also agree, these are commonly sold as German WW1 Pouches on ebay. Probably worth around $20

All the German pouches I have run across, even the Last Ditch ones, have manufacture information on the back. My guess would be eastern European.

                  Hi

We can easely be confused about Germany made or used pouches! Captured equipment was used to rear eschalon troops in many cases. I have seen a pic of NSSK soldier with some non German pouch. (Russian I guessed)
Anyway the pouch shown here could even with German use have his I believe origin in Turkey or somewhere in the East as mentioned.
I must comment the statement given about the German pouches always or almost have stampings! Well it's partly correct but I actually have quit a lot of pouches; where the stampings have been forgotten in the rush! Most of those are late manufacture but there is also some of the earlier.

                  Regards
                  Kim
