There are many rare things out there. This one could be WWII or just post war made out of WWII material. You request our opinions and that is what you get, opinions. Neither the construction nor the model looks like anything I know as standard German WWII. This doesn't mean it is not but just it is an unknown item. Don't get annoyed if you don't like what we say.

I just don` see why it isn`t made like a pre 1945 item!
The riveted leather parts are known, the stiching isn`t unusual, the fabric is OK...

A collector friend told me that he found many years ago 60 of the same bags in an old cellar here in Germany, with Gasmasks in it! So... maybe "lastditch-Ersatz-Gasmaskbags"?

Some told me that he found some of those bags in the 1990`s in an old Luftschutzkeller in Germany, filled with gasmasks!

Bag quite similar to yours (maybe reworked) was presented in Baugnez 44 Museum near Malmedy (you can see photo posted by MP44_tom in this thread: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...=460152&page=2 ). It was put there as a part of medic impression.
