I have exhausted all my leads and although I know most of my collections manufactues names these still go unknown. I would appreciated any information on these makers codes as I am a stickler for makers marks. thanks, Glenn

According to my German Miltary Code book for equipment manufacturers your markings are as follows.

    enn (on my Y straps)
    Grull, Alois, Taschner,
    Van der Nullig. 45-47
    Wien 75

    ESB (canteen cup)
    Knott, jun. , Valentin Maschinenfabrik,
    Eggstadt/Chiemsee

    WAL (canteen)
    ??????

IxI or fxf (I cant tell which one) [egg grenade]
Note: there is no code listed for either IxI or LxL
fxf is listed with the following name and address
    Michaelsen, Paul. Telefon-u.Telegrafenfabrik
    Richthofengasse 10
    Berlin SO 36

    asl ( web equipment strap)
    Metallwarenfabrik Karl Ehrmann
    Kreuzsteinstr. 9
    Nurnburg W.

    mkq (gas mask canister)
    Josef Cerny & Sohn
    Blechemballagen- u. Plakatefabrik
    Lenesice (Bohmen)

I hope this information is of some help to you.
    Take care and God bless!

              John !!
              I know this book..
but this book does not cover these codes (CAPITAL LETTER CODES)

notice that capital letter codes from messtins and canteens exist at last science 1934.. and regular three letter codes only science 1940 !!!

thats why I am asking I know this book for years but thanks !!!

The book that John listed is the one I used to look up the name and address of the manufacturer.

                  thanks Remy !!!
so.. we still looking.... manufacturer You provided is not correct - check again in bobk - when this code was introduced - that book will tell You that esb code was introduced in May 1941

then check canteens marked ESB34 7 years difference

canteens codes are like helmet codes.. they are propably just shortcuts from metalwerke name, and they havn't change science 30's till the and of war, examples:
MN, SWW, CFL, ESB, WWL, WAL, etc....
