heres mine. '43 dated, maker marked and WaA on the inside of the carrier and the shovel is '43 dated, maker marked and has a "H" on it also. both are in great shape. Glenn

hi Robb. no, my carrier wasnt produced with a cover. those are the earlier style of carrier. mine is the more commonly seen version. Glenn

The leather has PINNE 1940 and an Eagle and swas .There were more words but they have worn away .I cant find any stampings on the actual shovel .Rob.

Very interesting shovel with carrier Rob! Westra is actually a Dutch name, so it might be possible that you have the shovel of a Dutch volunteer in the Waffen-SS. Where did you buy it?
