Odd shovel cover

This cover of shovel is in any point in conformity with a cover WWII (while referring to me with number 183 of Militaria magazine), seams, markings, etc.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o></o>


EXCEPT THAT (the perspicacious observers will have been able to notice it): the loop of fastener is on the right, whereas normally it is always on the left. The belt and the loop did not go up. Does somebody have to you it an answer or a similar cover?

For me it looks like fake (sorry...), too many stamps for one item:-rbn,2"waffenamts"...and this right side strap.It really doesn't look good.Frame have early-mid construction and quite late markings.Maybe it is after some kind "rebuilding" .

Hi Jean-Pierre

The piece is a little tricky at first glanse it could look good but the previous owner? Couls have sex'et up a bit by adding some WaA stamps on the straps. WaA are normaly found on carriers but often inside as the one shown along the RB. Nr what we normally not are seeing!!
You probably need to show us some more detailed pics fron the sewings and straps.
My final comment is the piece is probably original but doctored somehow.

I agree with Kim;genuine piece which ha been "spiced up" with a Waa too much!

What are the details that tell you it's a fake ?
When we have this object in hands, we are sure it's an old object and no a copy : in particulier wear and tear.

Jpierre, could you "post" pictures that would unload before my 3 years old cousin is ripe for his old age pension ?Robert, after having carefully studied a few of the pictures JPiere attached I think I understand your point, but since you're a "rookie" here I'd suggest you, if I may, that if you have something to show the other members you'd better put your money where your mouth is instead of throwing the stone and hiding the hand cutting it short with a vague "I'll explain later"...a simple "will PM you" would be much better !
On to the shovel carrier now....I haven't unloaded the pictures JPierre added, but after a second look I must admit that the only "strange" thing COULD be the RBNr., even if I wouldn't label it as a definite no-no!
The presstoff texture doesn't look at al like the one peculiar to the fakes coming from the Eastern Europe and India or Pakistan.JPierre insists on this carrier's ageing..well..we all know what fakers do...I told Kim and Tom in a previous exchange of PMs and I won't surely tell here (see...I plainly REFUSE to tell!) not to help crooks(the forum's got its share!) to improve their turds!
I reserve to myself the pleasure of checking the pictures out tomorrow...I just wanted to point out, and you'll understand that, that you're not obliged to "unveil secrets", but if you have something to say don't say "I'll tell it later"...just do it....or keep it for yourself in the first place!

I shrinked all the pictures and normaly it is easer now to have a look even with a little connexion speed (I can't shrink more because after, it is not possible to see).

What is atonish me on this cover is the position of the loop of fastener on the right.

To be Honest.. I am with Grubhy on this one...

I dont like the way leather is cut.. and finished.. I dont like ageing - too even.. and artificiall looking.. and first of all I dont like stamps - especially RBNR number which is known to be on fake holsters.

Not a carrier I would trust .. or willing to have in my collection

I've finally unloaded the pictures and boy.........they've been very useful!
I'm definitely with Kuli but I didn't know that that RBNr was found on holster...I simply didn't like the way it was impressed !
Yes,stitching are strange and so is the leather.....I don't say a word on the Wa though......to be correct it would take a couple more !

I am with Kuli on this one. Several no-no's added up makes it a definite no-go! . Would't surprise me at all if it was "Made in the Cz Republic".
