Hy Guys,
i wanna show with you this piece of equipment. I got it some 6 years ago at a German fleamarket for a steal. It is a standard German Leather Belt, attached to it is a wooden Rack were you can put in Knifes. I know that the same type of box was in use in the 30´s and 40´s by civillian Butchers. But this box has a label on it which says "Kriegsaufmachung Güte unverändert". This means in English something like "War design, Quality unchanged"
The construction and sewing of the attachment straps looks 100% wartime done to me. It is my believing that a Kompani Tailor or saddler attached the Box to the Belt for the Field Butcher.
Has somebody of you seen a similar Piece and what is your general opinion ?
Best wishes Jens
I have to thank my wife for showing the Butchers Belt in wear
