Hello All-
I am hoping someone will be able to identify the use of the leather strap/belt shown in the attached photos.
Briefly, this strap is about one inch wide, and is 6.5 feet long when fully extended. The leather is finished on one side, and there is a floating ring which moves freely along the length. On one end is a roller buckle and short length of leather which is designed to double back and form a small loop. The loop then secures with the buckle. The other end has a slip latch which (I assume) attaches to the free floating ring and thereby allows for a larger, adjustable loop. I have demonstrated this in the photos.
An acceptance stamp is present on buckle end of the strap, and there is a makers logo, an anchor, on the inner surface of the slip latch.
I would appreciate any assistance with identifying the use, or any suggestions where I might be able to do further research.
My thanks to all for time spent in reply.
