    Black mess tin

    Picked this up at a flea market in Frankfurt, Germany a few years ago. It is aluminum with a steel handle and no markings at all. It certainly looks to be from WW2, but I have no way of knowing for sure. What does everyone else think?

    Definitely consistent with wartime construction. 99% of them are marked and dated, top and bottom though.

      Does no one else have an opinion? IMO, this item is not necessarily post war, but may be. Could it be late war? Immediate post war? Civilian? Any ideas?
