I do school presentations and education about Germany in WW2 and a subject that comes up and is hugely educational is the use of drugs such as Pervitin. Does any one knows where I can find a period Pervitin canister, bottle or packaging that I can obtain for this purpose. ? Jacques

It's tough to find the containers for Pervitan. I did write up on its use by the Wehrmacht in my book Ruhetag. I used wartime allied intelligence reports to add some perspective about its use, which doesn't exactly match the sensationalized versions in the contemporary press.

I only had one contributor who actually had some packaging to provide for the book. I believe they are wartime but I'm not sure they were dated. I mention this because his packages are different from the one that came from a recovered German aircraft (I couldn't use the ground dug pictures). Your picture on the left appears to be the same as found in the aircraft. However Temmler Werke which was the main if not sole manufacturer of Pervitan probably used numerous styles of packages/containers. WR Jim

I was the person that supplied the images of the Pervitin container for Jim's book.

In the process of putting together a complete verbandkasten, I ended up purchasing several incomplete kits to get everything that I needed. The Pervitin was in one of these partial kits that I purchased in Germany.

I have always thought that it was wartime production but who knows. Of interest, it came packaged in a marked envelope that is made of the same type of brittle clear paper that the anti fogging lenses for the gas mask are packaged in.

Hello Jacques,

here is my empty Pervitin tube. It was hiding in an untouched WH map case. So I strongly believe it is a wartime product.
