Ok need help to identify what this is. I have just found it today in amongst my late fathers things, and need to know what it is. Someone must be able to translate German, so here's hoping. It does have the Eagle with swastika in the top left. Ay help would be appreciated. I think that may be someone's military number written on the front.

Yep, standard First Aid Box in the Wehrmacht vehicles (and other uses)
Regular contents would be: a set of instruments (large scissors, small scissors, tweezers) 2 compressed packs of wadding, 2 compressed packs of gauze, 10 small field dressing bandages, a sling, 2 metal splints, 2 cardboard splits, a plaster roll, a little pouch with about 20 safety pins, 4 burn bandages , 2 little bottles of iodine, a (rubber) tourniquet band.

Not rare and not very special in that condition (compare to mine) Your positive point is the WL+number, but due to condition of the box...You can find them from time to time at Ebay in a range of 20-50€. Most difficult is to find them with their original contents.
