    Pioneer shover cover

What is the rarity and value of something like this? I have never come across it before. It came with a shovel which is the lenght of the vehicle/kubel shovels. I see that pickaxe carriers are priced at 800 euro.

    Evg 1943 dated with eagle.

Late war construction in black pressed cardboard (Presstoff), it is in nice slightly worn condition, only the flaps are in leather.

    Appreciate any input.

          Thanks Steiner.

I took some pictures of the inside and found a couple more markings. The flaps have roman numerals: I, II, and III. The last one is almost unreadable.

Another observation I made is that the bottom of the carrier has small holes. Probably to let out any water gathering inside.

More details. Its interesting to see how they mixed and matched presstoff and leather. The parts that would need to be flexible are leather.

The cover came with this shovel. The wood has a nice patina, and there is a lot of original paint on the blade.
