Unknown Rucksack

Hi guys, this was advertised as German tropical rucksack. I know it is not tropical related but what is it exactly? A friend suggested a post war production from period materials.

Could it be made in a POW camp? On the pack there is a name, rank and the name of a POW camp in Texas.

Sure - no way this is a Wehrmacht backpack. Low quality material and simply construction and production. Lacking outside pockets and loops to fix more gear.
BTW, tropical Heer backpacks were green.

Whats your opinion I am courious? Agree It doesn't have color or some parts of German types but I really cant tell based on pictures could it be postwar country or as stated pow made? timothy

I think this one is indeed POW made. I have a same one, similar design and made from a heeresverplegung sack. This fabric has the red stripe in it also encountered in late war MP44 magazine pouches.
The shoulder straps where original 1944 essenbehalter straps in perfect condition, that's why I bought it in the first place XD

This is certainly not a standard military pack.

IMO , like the first one shown here, this a postwar made backpack for civilian use made from wartime leftovers.
