Canvas strap with strange tip.

Hello, i have this strap, lenght is 37 cm wit the buckle. Is this the original lenght ? The tip is not a metal triangle but this tread. Looks like tips of cotton belts like AK etc. Or is this a replacement or post war repair ?

I think its postwar but ive never seenone like that. German wartime we straps were longer to be able to strap zeltbahns and other equipment. This one barely reaches it. Also not sure if this is the same for web straps but leather straps are at least 58cm i think. some longer for other things. plus not to mention the tip which usually has the LUX metal one.

just my 2 cents but who knows it may be war time

It's wartime but the metall tip broke off, maybe taking some of the strap with it. If the tread is old it could be a field modification, otherwise it's been repaired post war to look better. is the metall buckle marked?
