Unknown Leather Pouch with FL Number, Need help !

    Hello all,

i have never seen a pouch like that. Did anybody of you know for what this pouch was used for ?
The markings looks a little bit strange to me. Looks like an early Reichswehr WaA Eagle, but with a three letter code and makers marking + FL number ???? I have no idea.

Can you please help me ?

    Bests Jens

          Hi Jens

I can't say a word about the purpose for this pouch but there is a lot of mixed markings! I think the pouch could be non-German but captured materiel? If its German I think it's heavily rebuild. The rivets look strange unless its First WW otherwise the Russians use rivets.
The markings are indicating early use by reading the Weimar eagle WaA and the Maker stamping the some intertwined "HS". The tree letter code (fzs) indicate later use or rebuild at Heinrich Krieghof factory but I doubt the origin of this stamp and finally the last one is the LW delivery code so all in all a pretty confusing matter.
We learn a lot about originality and strange materiel used in the war all the time so I can't give you a strait answer about this pouch it could be sexed up a bit with the stampings for gaining some money. But for sure a mix up.

          Kim

              Kim and Eric,

many thanks for your opinions and the Link. I agree, its a very uncommon pouch with strange markings. A friend of me said that the first two numbers of the FL number has something to do with the MG 151 or so. Maybe these bags were reissued by the Krieghoff factory later in the war and than given out with the LW MG 151.

Is there a real market value for such a bag ?

Best wishes and many thanks Jens
