Gas mask canister ID needed

I have a friend who has this Gas mask canister. Does anyone know what it is. I've looked on google and found nothing.

Its west german postwar army model from the 60 and 70s. Yours show the year (19)62.

Gas mask canister for the German post war GM-54, the mask was similar in shape as the GM-30 but was made in an early form of silicon rubber with no stockinette. It's a challenge to find a good example of a GM-54 as the silicon is prone of deterioration.

At below left, please see the mask carrier being worn by a U.S. Military Academy (West Point) cadet on temporary duty with the Bundeswehr. The photo was taken in the late 1950s. Collectors refer to this style of carrier as the "thermos" model.
