Fuze setter for the 88 HE shell L\4,5 ?

It's not a Fuze Setter itself, but the device that the battle commander uses to calculate the fuze settings then relays the settings to the gun crew. Looks to have a battery compartment for a light so that it can be used at night. Very interesting piece!

Thanks so much guys! Can anyone explain how exactly it would have worked? What is a fuze setting? Would this be a coastal artillery item or for ship use?
