Italian messkits

Hello,

I have a question.
The italian messkits had a aluminium handle. On the ones which were re-used by the Wehrmacht are iron handles. What was the reason?

also the Italian messkit have the iron handle..
The first models were all aluminum
these having been acquired after September 8, 43 were probably models built during the war and then the war economy removing aluminum where it was not necessary (what happened also to German Essgeschirr )

I didn't know that there was a First model.
I have two messkits with the Iron handles.
Today I got a messkit with all aluminium - than i was wondering.
Are the First Models rarer than the others?

no the first model one is without paint.
Sorry I can't take pictures at the moment...
