German Military Furniture

Nice collection, I have a spare Hocker somewhere. The rifle rack looks like the sort that would be mounted into a recess in the wall IE there were probably only ever the two parts. They are still present in some barracks here in Germany.

I definitely think it was a rifle rack that was mounted to the wall. I have some wooden reinforcements placed on the reverse of it so it is now moveable.

I based the center piece off of one that Bunker Militaria had for sale at one time (see photo). I think it was also a wall mounted type but it came in 3 pieces with a wooden center piece. It's the only one that I recall seeing on Bunker Militaria that had the center piece. Most others that he's had for sale were either the top and bottom or only the bottom portion.

This is a single style wall locker that is army marked with an eagle and HU stamp on the reverse.

The paint was in pretty rough condition so I've stripped it to its original wood finish.

Here's a photo of the single Army wall locker after I stripped the green paint from it.

Some of the original varnish/lacquer finish was left on the wood after removing the paint.

Luckily the paint came off pretty easy on this particular piece with chemical paint strippers. I didn't have the same luck on other pieces.

This may be a little mundane, but it is a German army marked wall mirror.

It is marked with an eagle, HU, and a manufacturer's stamp on the reverse.

Very good help to us. Our reenactment group have a site with barracks, and we want to built a period look place. I see, what kind of furniture need to us.

I'm running out of furniture to show, but here are two of the German military footstools.

I think the one on the left is an army issue one, and the one on the right is an RAD issue one.

The army issue one is just marked with an ink stamp with something illegible and "12-42".

I have also seen these with the HU and eagle markings, but I do not have one in my collection.

I also believe the finish is original on both of these examples.

This is the circular RAD stamp on the other footstool. It is very faint, but it is marked "R.A.D.". I believe that it originally had an eagle in the marking as well, but I think it has been somewhat de-Nazified.

The vendor at the flohmarkt had this one and 2 other identical RAD footstools. One stool had a much better and clearer RAD stamp, but the legs were in very bad condition. I bought the one in the best overall condition.

I'm not really trying to compete with unterscharr's excellent H.U. thread covering some truly great furniture and barracks item, but here is also a photo of a coat rack in my collection.

This particular one is H.U. marked, 1938 dated, and also marked to a "Pionierschule".
