    German Military Furniture

I'm posting some photos of some of German military furniture that I have in my collection. Hopefully, I will get a number of them loaded over the holidays.

First up is a LW wall locker. I believe this one is made in occupied Belgium and it originally came out of Antwerp. I had found a faint Antwerp 1941 stamp on it at one time, but I can't find it again.

The latches have been replaced with locks (probably post-war), and it originally had a coat of post-war white paint on it when I bought it.

The excellent Atlantic Wall Museum in Ostend BE has several of this particular style in their displays.

    Regards,

    Ben

Here are photos of the LW markings on the back of the LW wall locker.

Also there is a photo of the interior.

Here is my second wall locker that also came out of Belgium. This one is stamped "HU" on back, and is marked Antwerp 1940.

The powder post beetles have left this one in pretty rough condition.

This shows the markings on the reverse.

This shows the Antwerp 1940 marking stamped into it. The LW wall locker also had a similar marking that was lightly stamped into it. I could see it though when it was outside in the sunlight, and I can't remember exactly where it was at on it.

I ran into at least one other in Belgium with the HU marking (and in nicer condition) but it was already sold.

This is a single style wall locker that is army marked with an eagle and HU stamp on the reverse.

The paint was in pretty rough condition so I've stripped it to its original wood finish.

Next up is LW table. It's LW marked on the bottom. It had been repainted white during post-war use, and I've stripped it down to the original wood finish also.

This is a German army night stand. It is eagle and HU marked.

It has some wear to the top surface, as well as, some damage due to powder post beetles.

This is an unusual army marked wash stand with ceramic wash bowls on the inside. I have not seen another like this particular one.

I don't know if the paint is original or not.

The markings are stamped on the back of the wash stand rather than being burned.

I have seen other markings like these on other pieces of German military furniture, but not as frequently as those that are burned in.

This is an army marked chair. I think this style is typical of army marked chairs, but I believe there are other variations out there.

This is one style of a LW chair. The markings on this particular one are inked on the bottom.

This is another style of LW chair. Sadly somebody decided to de-Nazify the markings on the bottom.

This is yet another pair of LW chairs. One is LW marked and the other is not although they are from the same manufacturer. They also came together.

I had oiled them so they look darker than they actually are. In addition, I had to do so minor repairs as they weren't holding up well.

Next up is a German bed that I believe is military, but it may have come from a hospital as well. However, it does not raise up like some of the hospital beds that I have seen.

I have also seen another set of these beds being sold as WW2 German on German eBay a few years ago.

This particular bed came from near Koln, and the lady that I bought it from told me that her mother had slept on it during the war when she was a baby. It's only a story, but that what she told me.

I can't find any markings on it, but there is quite a bit of paint on it.

I know there are other styles of German army and LW bunk beds, and this one is not those particular styles. I don't claim to be a bed expert so it could be something completely different.

I do have an original set of German military linens, mattress, pillow, and pillow case for it.

                            Regards,

                            Ben

                              Hi, Ben,

Great collection! The furnitures are very interesting collections

                              Best,
