P38 softholster with RBNR

The last months i have learned something about this RBNR marked softholster.
Now i got one with the police-eagle.
Is everything ok here?

I'm far from an expert and I have never had a chance to inspect one in real life so I am not 100% certain but given that unquestionable originals are easily found I would always choose one of those over the one you have shown.

IMHO the police eagle should never be on a RBn marked item, as they were separate purchasing agencies for different services. Police stamps should have a letter indicating police acceptance.

The RBn number refers to the national Purchasing Number, the first letters (0 to 9) shows the industry group, the 2nd group of four letters is the District Code (Kries) where the factory is located, and the last group of four letters is the unique individual number of that company in that particular Kries. Bet if you smell that holster, it will smell like fresh new leather. It should not since it was "made" 75 years ago.

It is very suspect the District numbers changed on all these seperate items, but the actual factory identification number is the same! Plus many appear to be from the same die set.

P-38 holsters are currently being made in Ukraine and Russian factories along with Police and Luftwaffe drop type holster knock offs, some with good markings, some not so good. You can even see where the leather dye ran over to the untreated side on many. They are also responsible for the flood of repro G-43 pouches and MP-44 pouch sets. Story was these were "found" in an abandoned German warehouse. Really?? So the Germans were shipping vast trainloads of Police marked holsters, and other field gear East when they needed food, ammo and clothes? Holsters were issued with the weapons, NOT later in the field.

The differnce betwenn army holster and police holster ist the acceptance-stamp.
Nice to see, that all police holsters have RBNR and the army had the 3 letter code.
