    German ''wash rolls''

    Hi there!
I was hoping to get some answers on this question...
Was there issued Wash rolls to German soldiers during WW2?
I bougth a repro, but I find little evidence of this item existing..

I'm quite new by the way.

    Kindest regards.

    Hi Svein

Not sure what you mean by wash rolls. Are we talking wash clothes, towels etc. Maybe a picture of your repro might help. Have to forgive me, I'm sometimes a bit slow on the uptake. WR Jim

I've seen TP packed for mailing by Feldpost but not for standard Wehrmacht production. It might have been done, but I suspect standard commercial or locally procured products were used. jim

I suspect he is talking about something like the British "holdall" in which the soap, razor, comb, etc..was kept. They rolled up and tied closed.

              update

              Thank's for all the answers!
              n toiletpaper hehe.

They are a bit like the one British soldiers had.
I'm aware of the cotton bag with couloured stripes on.

I was not able to upload any picutres, but here's a link for the roll:

I hope not this is a "fantasy" product.

              Regards

                Hello Svein,
I'm by no means an expert on the authenticity of this item, but I personally have never seen anything that looks like it being used by the Wehrmacht. I've been collecting and researching TR period personal items since the late 70's and have never come across one.
                Regards
                Bern
