Three parts aluminium mess kit - latewar?

Hello, there is my new three parts mess kit - made from aluminium, tabs for wire handle are typical for 2nd part of war. Mess kit isn´t marked.
Is it latewar (44/45) made?

Not marked, with that kind of loops for the handle and all aluminium would make me think it is post war.

I have exactly the same, same manufacturing. Also unmarked. The inner cup also has the same recess in the rolled edge of the aluminum in the middle.

The statement that it is postwar because it's made of aluminum is not true. I have an all aluminum one marked kvu 44.

I think these are very late war or more likely very early post war, the paint shade is a bit different then true wartime messkits.

Well, you have said so, there is a difference certainly, your 1944 is marked and his is not, that's what makes me think it might be postwar. Anyhow, it could also be for some different organisation, para-militar, political or other. I had an all aluminium with the same kind of loops for the handle, unmarked and painted black.

there are 3 things that make me think it is post war:
- the 2 rivets on the lid look strange
- the "twisted" tabs for the handle
- style of inner cup


oh yes... missing markings of course... that makes 4.

Might want to clarify what all aluminium means to us?

Wartime mess kits made of alu have steel handles (both pan and wire).

If a mess kit also has alu handles (both on the pan and the wire) then that worries me.

No doubt there are MN44 mess kits made of alu, just these have steel handles.
